Zerma in Niger

Overview

"As they talked and discussed these things with each other,
Jesus himself came up and walked along with them...
"
Luke 24:15

One observer of Zerma culture has noted that, when someone visits, it's customary to walk with them down the road when they leave. How beautiful that the Lord has embedded within Zerma culture the significance of fellowship—what is fellowship but "walking with" others! The Zerma people appreciate such fellowship, but as animistic Muslims their attempts to achieve it are unfulfilled: true fellowship must begin with "the Father and His Son Jesus Christ" (1 John 1: 3). Thankfully, Jesus Christ desires to "walk with" His people, and whattransformation occurs when He does!

Look at the response of the twowith whom Jesus walked on the road to Emmaus: "Were not our heartsburning within us while he talked with us on the road?" (Luke 24:32) God has ordained that people be brought to Him by "walking with" them: He modeled this for us when He was on earth and left us here to walkwith others in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.

Surely this includes the Zerma people. Who will walk with them so thatthey might know that there is a God in heaven who also wants to walkwith them?
