Sarah and the Koranic School Boys
Sarah is a Nigerian Christian missionary from the Yoruba Tribe. She graduated with a degree in Insurance from Nigeria, but then felt the Lord calling her to mission work. Though she wasn’t an Anglican, she approached an Anglican church in Nigeria to assist and support her. They agreed. She went to a country in the 10/40 window to minister amongst prostitutes, prisoners, and the homeless. AFM-Nigeria met her at the frontier mission conference held in Jos, Nigeria in October 2007. She told us after 10 years of mission work she felt so alone and ready to give up, but the conference had given her hope. She also told us how she noticed that the young boys who attended a Koranic school opposite her house had no money to buy water. Though poor herself, she went down the street to buy water. The boys started to come to her house and drink the water she provided as well as other necessities. Soon the leader of the Koranic school came over and thanked her for what she was doing. She realized the boys needed literacy instruction and began a program based on Christian materials.
Please pray for Sarah and her compassionate heart for the least evangelized.
