Networking, Collaboration, & Partnership: An illustration using Morocco

A Scenario for the villages and towns of Morocco to hear the Kingdom of God by the apostolic missionaries of Latin America and the West Indies, with the support of the resources of Anglicans from the United States.

Luke 8:1-3 Jesus went to every village and town proclaiming the Kingdom of God. The Twelve Apostles were with Him, as well as some women of substance who had had demons cast out of them and been healed by Him.

I. “Going to Every village and town” as those unreached areas today.

The Church of Jesus Christ is called to go to every village and town and this may be the time for a new configuration of the Anglican Church to respond.

In today’s world of terrorism, Islamic fundamentalism, pluralism, and prejudice, there can hardly be a more needed area for the Kingdom of God than the Islamic world. So far the fundamentalists have relatively smaller influence and inroads among North African Muslims. The strong presence of the Gospel and the influence of the Gospel will provide a bastion of hope and peace.

II. “The 12” as the apostolic missionaries of Latin America and the West Indies.

Many studies and experiences are showing the advantages of people from these areas in being witnesses to Christ among the Muslims of North Africa. This is due to similarities in appearance, proximity in language, lifestyle and level of living, and willingness to fit into society however they can. They have opportunities for tent-making which are not open to most citizens of the US.

III. “The Women of substance” as the mission agencies of the US.

The American Church is in the throes of finding our future. We still have strength in our missions resources – of experience, of failures and successes, of networks, of contacts with churches of considerable wealth.

Collaborative partnership on behalf of Morocco would look like this:

  • Time – This cannot happen overnight. Our expectations must build in perseverance over many years.
  • Vision – The churches will need under girding for the vision of being a sending church – and the realization of god’s blessing on such churches.
  • Ecumenical – Many non-Anglican institutions are in place and eager to assist.
  • Training – This must be done well to ensure the security of those who go.
  • Structures – The experiences of US agencies can assist in stable structures.
  • Finances – US congregations can connect by their support of individual missionaries.
  • Prayer – A strategic prayer effort is essential to this.
