If You Are Considering Application To AFM

This application to Anglican Frontier Missions begins the process towards becoming a missionary to an unevangelized people group through AFM.  Your application is also an expression of your very high commitment to the least evangelized and your understanding that God wants them to have the eternal life offered by His Son, Jesus Christ. By this time you have had some information about the nature of the work of AFM and its concentration on the unevangelized people of World A.

AFM does not take lightly its role in the lives of its missionaries.  Underlying this process are some convictions, which are important to recognize as part of this application process.

As far as we are able, we intend to undergird the missionary with a sense of security and support in his or her work.  Security is a blessing from above.  In this work it is a cherished companion.  Security comes from the certainty of the call as well as the confidence that the essential things which need to be in place are there.  The intent of this application process is to confirm both areas.

While this work is exhilarating, fulfilling, and exciting, it is also strenuous, lonely, and demanding.  Therefore, to begin the work with significant gaps is to head into difficult times.  As far as these can be spotted and nurtured, we hope to minimize the likelihood of future adverse trials and set a course for a rewarding and fruitful ministry.

We take care to see that the areas of life, which would be most stressful, are covered well.  These areas are probably obvious: financial, emotional, spiritual, educational, family, and relational.  As the process takes you into these areas, please know that the intention is to shore up where the foundations are firm and to bring assistance where greater support is needed.  The long-term interests of the missionary applicant are on our minds and in our prayers.

Thank you for your interest in those who should no longer be overlooked by the church.  Thank you for your interest in serving through Anglican Frontier Missions.  May God's hand be upon this process that His greater blessing be assured in your ministry.
